WITH more than 2,000 limestone karsts jutting from its serene emerald waters, Halong Bay makes for a mystical landscape that lures millions of tourists each year.
And now, the destination is ready to welcome the biggest and most luxurious five-star cruise it has ever hosted.
The first of two President Cruises ships, a 46-room luxury hotel, will make waves at Halong Bay on Nov 12, 2018, while the second vessel will take to the water in 2019.
“It’s bigger, it’s bolder and it’s better than anything Halong Bay has ever seen,” President Cruises’ Canadian-born General Manager Franco Muzzone said.
“Our debut takes cruising in the bay, and possibly worldwide, to a whole new dimension with unsurpassed dining, entertainment, and relaxation options so that time spent on the ship is hands down the highlight of the cruise,” he added.
Designed with the powerful and refined modern traveler in mind, President Cruises is the best way to discover the Unesco World Heritage Site while relishing in the comfort and exclusiveness of a world-class hospitality.
Here’s all you need to know about the President Cruises ship:
The 1,200-ton steel craft measures 86 meters long, 13.9 meters wide and 13 meters high. It has five decks in total.
It comes complete with an evening piano bar, a six-treatment room spa, fine dining restaurant, and two expansive sun decks.
At the evening piano bar, guests will be entertained by nightly performances from a Brazilian jazz duo, evoking the refined atmosphere of a 1920s New York jazz cafe.
For further relaxation, guests can book a sublime world-class treatment at the spa, managed by renowned Vietnamese wellness group Kaia Spa.
The ship’s fine dining restaurant will serve up an a la carte menu of mouthwatering Japanese, Korean, and European-inspired dishes.
On the top deck, two sun decks total 324 square meters and 250 square meters respectively, each with the capacity to accommodate 120 passengers.
Guests will enjoy hanging out on the deck while taking in the sights of Halong Bay’s dramatic limestone karsts.
Alternatively, its 46 high-design cabins, from an ample 30 square meters to an immense 130 square meters offer large windows providing spectacular vistas of the bay.
The Ambassador Balcony and Premier Balcony cabins are equipped with private balconies while the Cabinet and Treasury suites offer outside terraces and bathtubs.
High rollers will enjoy the lavish Presidential Suite on the upper deck at the front of the ship. It comes with a generous private terrace, private bar, and dining area.
Each non-smoking cabin is also decked with dark parquet wooden flooring and neutral and earthy palettes, as well as walk-in closets.
“Our Presidential Suite really is the ultimate penthouse on the sea, completely redefining luxury on the bay in a whole new way,” Lion Asia Tourism and Trading JSC General Director Dang Hang said.
Best of all, President Cruises’ ship is the first on Halong Bay to feature an elevator system catering to people with disabilities and the elderly.
President Cruises offers one and two-night itineraries with a luxury speedboat transporting passengers to a host of destinations around the bay including caves, beaches, floating villages, and a pearl farm.
Its rates start from US$450 per person with the Presidential Suite priced at US$7,800 inclusive of attractions on the itinerary, meals, and transfers.
