Escape the Vietnamese sunshine in Da Nang’s coffee shops

VIETNAM isn’t short of coffee shops, but the coastal city of Da Nang is home to some of the coolest.

This delightful beachside city is in the middle of Vietnam, just beneath the ancient capital Hue and a short bus ride from the scenic Hoi An.

Da Nang offers travelers a wonderful respite from the bustling cities found across Vietnam. With its choice of over 10 sandy beaches and a myriad of fresh seafood restaurants, Da Nang does a fine job of attracting people from all over the world.

However, just 20 years ago this now idyllic city wasn’t on many traveler’s must-see lists given it was undeveloped with little to offer tourists except for mountain excursions.

But fast forward two decades, Da Nang is now one of the most liveable cities in Vietnam, boasting a mix of luxury and budget hotels, a fine dining scene, organic spas, and of course, a wealth of coffee shops.

Among the traditional coffee shops serving up steaming bowls of pho, crispy banh mi, and traditional drip coffee, are plenty of super chic cafes offering all the authentic tastes of Vietnam in serene settings, perfect for escaping the raging sunshine for an hour or two.

With plant-covered walls, canopy-covered alcoves and niche themes, you’ll find yourself transported from sandy beaches to thick jungles and beyond all while rehydrating and reenergizing.

Here’s a selection of Da Nang’s most tranquil coffee shops that you’ll want to visit, if not for the coffee than most certainly for the ‘gram.
